THIS PROJECT SEEKS TO ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE AND REDUCE THE OVERALL CAPITAL COST OF PARTICLE-TO-FLUID HEAT EXCHANGERS (HX) BY INCORPORATING EXTENDED SURFACES IN NARROW CHANNEL FLUIDIZED BED PARTICLE FLOWS AND OPTIMIZING PARTICLE-SIDE PARAMETERS. EXTENDED SURFACES THAT INTERACT WITH THE FLUIDIZED BED WITHOUT DISRUPTING FLUIDIZATION WILL PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT HEAT TRANSFER BENEFIT THROUGH AN INCREASE IN SURFACE AREA AND OPTIMIZATION OF CHANNEL GEOMETRY TO PROMOTE IDEALIZED PARTICLE FLUIDIZATION DYNAMICS.
