THE PROPOSED PROJECT HAS A SINGLE BUDGET PERIOD. END GOALS OF THIS PROJECT ARE TO DEVELOP CONCEPTUAL DESIGNS FOR HIGH-TEMPERATURE (540°C) RADIAL AND AXIAL PM-AMBS AND HERMETICALLY-SEALED SCO2 MACHINERY FOR A REFERENCE APPLICATION, TO DEMONSTRATE FEASIBILITY, AND TO COMPARE COST AND PERFORMANCE WITH CONVENTIONAL NON-HERMETIC MACHINERY CONCEPTS WITH OIL-LUBRICATED BEARINGS. TEST DATA WILL BE PUBLISHED FOR MAGNETIC BEARING MATERIALS EXPOSED TO HIGH-TEMPERATURE CO2 UP TO 550°C AT AMBIENT PRESSURE AND 450°C AT >80 BAR FOR UP TO 6,000 HOURS.
