THE PRIMARY GOAL OF THE STEWARDSHIP SCIENCE ACADEMIC ALLIANCES PROJECT NUCLEAR REACTION STUDIES WITH RARE ISOTOPE BEAMS FOR STEWARDSHIP SCIENCE IS TO ADVANCE OUR UNDERSTANDING OF NEUTRON-INDUCED REACTIONS ON SHORT-LIVED FISSION FRAGMENTS AND OTHER RARE ISOTOPES OF INTEREST TO STOCKPILE STEWARDSHIP SCIENCE. THIS PROJECT BUILDS ON AN EXISTING SYNERGISTIC COLLABORATION WITH LAWRENCE LIVERMORE AND OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORIES AND THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE- KNOXVILLE. MEASUREMENTS WITH ACCELERATED RARE ISOTOPE BEAMS ARE REALIZED AT THE FACILITY FOR RARE ISOTOPE BEAMS AT MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY AND ATLAS AT ARGONNE NATIONAL LABORATORY. THE EXPERIMENTS EXPLOIT CHARGED-PARTICLE DETECTOR ARRAYS AND THE COUPLING OF THESE DETECTORS TO WORLD LEADING GAMMA-RAY TRACKING ARRAYS. THE INTERPRETATION OF THE MEASUREMENTS TO INFORM NEUTRON-INDUCED REACTIONS BUILDS ON ONGOING ADVANCEMENTS IN NUCLEAR REACTION AND STRUCTURE THEORY. CENTRAL TO THIS EFFORT IS THE ENGAGEMENT OF EARLY CAREER SCIENTISTS IN ALL ASPECTS OF NUCLEAR REACTION STUDIES WITH RARE ISOTOPE BEAMS AND INTRODUCING THEM TO NATIONAL NUCLEAR SECURITY ADMINISTRATION-LAB SCIENTISTS THROUGH EXPERIMENTS AND COLLABORATION AND SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS.
