1953-1586 OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY BASE AWARD ''THERMODYNAMIC AND KINETIC SIMULATIONS AND TESTING PROCEDURES TO SCREEN FOR ENHANCED DURABILITY OF CONCRETE CONTAINING INDUSTRIAL WASTE'' THIS PROJECT WILL DEVELOP TOOLS TO ENABLE THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-ENERGY BINDER (LEB) SYSTEMS THAT RESULT IN LONG-LASTING CONCRETE STRUCTURES. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO REDUCE ENERGY DEMAND AND GREENHOUSE EMISSIONS RELATED TO THE PRODUCTION OF CEMENTS, TO LEVERAGE THE PRACTICAL ECONOMIC BENEFITS OF LEB, AND TO PRODUCE HIGHLY DURABLE CONCRETE.
