Abstract

This conference will convene leaders from government and the quantum industry to strengthen public-private collaboration in quantum information science and technology (QIST). QIST encompasses emerging technologies in quantum computing, sensing, and networking that promise transformative advances across sectors such as national security, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing. By identifying shared priorities and actionable strategies, the event aims to accelerate the transition of research into real-world applications. The resulting report will guide future investments and partnerships, supporting U.S. leadership in quantum innovation, economic growth, and national security. Held in Washington D.C., the conference will bring together federal agencies, quantum developers, and commercial end users to explore strategies for identifying science and technology barriers faced by industry and methods for engaging government and government-funded researchers to accelerate innovation. Sessions will include keynotes, panels, and breakout discussions on topics such as workforce development, partnership models, and methodologies for identifying industry’s technology needs in quantum computing, sensing, and networking. A final report will summarize findings for broad dissemination. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
