Abstract

The 2024 SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM 2024) is an event organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) in collaboration with the American Statistical Association. Scheduled to take place from April 18 to April 20, 2024, in Houston, Texas, USA, this conference serves as a platform for researchers in the field of data mining to showcase their work through a peer-reviewed process. Additionally, it offers an excellent opportunity for newcomers, including graduate students, to delve into the latest research developments via invited speakers and tutorials. The conference also includes specialized workshops, and its proceedings are published both in archival form and on the SIAM website. The noteworthiness of the SDM 2024 Doctoral Forum lies in its role as a significant forum for young datamining researchers to share and discuss their research findings. Through rigorous peer review, the conference ensures the high quality of the presented work. It also fosters intellectual growth by offering attendees access to cutting-edge research through invited talks and tutorials. This exchange of ideas among experts and newcomers alike enhances the intellectual rigor of the field and contributes to its advancement. The inclusion of workshops and the publication of proceedings further solidify the intellectual merit of this conference by providing a comprehensive platform for the dissemination of knowledge and innovation in data mining. Twenty graduate students from US universities will be supported. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
