Abstract
This project will create a Research Practitioner Partnership called Baton Rouge: Bringing Youth Technology, Education and Success (BRBytes). The project will involve a collaboration between the East Baton Rouge Parish School System and Louisiana State University to design, study and support computing courses from grades seventh to tenth. This Computing Track will be integrated into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) secondary graduation pathways approved by the State of Louisiana. BRBytes aims to provide opportunities for all students in East Baton Rouge Parish School System to engage in high-quality computing courses. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
