THIS PROJECT WILL RIGOROUSLY VALIDATE A NEW KINETIC MODEL OF MAGNETOELECTROCATALYSIS SHOWING HOW MAGNETIC FIELD GRADIENTS FROM METAL ATOMS AND MICROMAGNETS BOOST ELECTRON TRANSFER RATES THROUGH A COMBINATION OF LITERATURE ANALYSIS AND TARGETED EXPERIMENTS ON HYDROGEN EVOLUTION AND TRANSITION METAL REDOX SYSTEMS. THE VETTED MODEL WILL BE DISSEMINATED VIA PEER REVIEWED PUBLICATIONS AND A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW, EMPOWERING THE RATIONAL DESIGN OF EARTH ABUNDANT, HIGH PERFORMANCE CATALYSTS FOR BATTERIES, FUEL CELLS, ELECTROLYZERS, AND OTHER ELECTROCHEMICAL ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES.
