THERE ARE MANY COMMERCIAL FIELDS THAT COULD GREATLY BENEFIT FROM STABLE AND TUNABLE CAPACITOR BASED DEVICE RESEARCH THAT WILL ENABLE IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AND REDUCED COST, SIZE, WEIGHT, AND POWER CONSUMPTION OF INERTIAL SENSORS FOR ASSURED POSITIONING, NAVIGATION, AND TIMING APPLICATIONS. ONE SUCH EXAMPLE IS IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE AND REDUCING THE COST OF INERTIAL SENSORS TO AUGMENT SELF-DRIVING AUTOMOBILE TECHNOLOGIES. IMPROVED INERTIAL SENSORS PROVIDE A MEANS FOR REDUCING POWER CONSUMPTION AND COST TO ENABLE IMPROVEMENTS IN THESE APPLICATIONS. OTHER POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE INTERNET OF THINGS AND HOME AUTOMATION WHERE BATTERY LIFE IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
