Abstract

1051483 Anderson This grant supports an upgrade of sedimentological analysis equipment at the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) at the University of Colorado. Specific equipment items that will be acquired include a laser diffraction particle sizer and a centrifuge. The equipment will support a range of research including studies in paleoclimatology, ecohydrology, eolian transport of mineral aerosols and accumulation on snowpack and effects on surface albedo, and research initiatives supported through the Boulder Creek Critical Zone Observatory (CZO). INSTAAR facilities will continue to support student research training across the departments of Geography, Geological Sciences, Civil Engineering, and Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at Colorado. ***
