Abstract

This award is made in accordance with the Office of Polar Programs Post Doctoral Fellowship Solicitation, and will support travel for the investigator to meet with a prospective mentor, Dr. William Detrich. Dr. Detrich has studied extensively the physiological adaptations of Antarctic Notothenioid fishes. Initial telephone conversations established mutual research interests, and were used to discuss potential Post-doctoral projects. Dr. Detrich suggested that the P.I. visit his group in Boston to finalize post-doctoral project ideas and professional development opportunities at Northeastern University. This award supports the intellectual exchange that will lead to proposal development.
