Abstract

This award to the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat is for the hire of the icebreaker ODEN for breaking an ice channel to McMurdo Station, Antarctica. This activity is supported through a special agreement between the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat, the Swedish Research Council and the National Science Foundation for ?Cooperative Research and Logistical Activities in Antarctica.? This award of $3,732,521 provides funding to cover the initial payment for ODEN services for the 2008-2009 USAP field season.
