Abstract
Through this award to the Center for Advanced Computing and Communication, in association with the Friday Institute, the National Science Foundation, NSA, and the participating agencies of the NITRD High Confidence Software and Systems interagency coordinating group seek to advance outcomes from the 2007 National Workshop on Stimulating and Sustaining Excitement and Discovery in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Education. The award supports the exploration of three model programs: a pilot program in on-line computer science curriculum, expansion of the NC State Keenan Fellows program for teacher training and leadership development, and a residential middle grade math and science summer camp to be hosted at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.
