Abstract

0731153 Anzenbacher The project will develop a set of compounds that can selectively bind explosive compounds. The new materials will change color or quench fluorescence when they are exposed to explosive vapors. The methods proposed include different highly fluorescent bowl shaped molecules that are quenched when they bind nitroaromatics and vapochromic platinum complexes. These materials are being developed for low cost detection using luminescence quenching or vaporchromaticity.
