Abstract
The International Astronomical Union's Symposium 248, "A Giant Step: from Milli- to Micro-arcsecond Astronometry" will be held in Shanghai, China PR, 15-19 October 2007. The symposium will allow for the re-evaluation of astrometric techniques across a wide range of wavelength regimes with the main goal being an enhancement of communication, collaboration, and coordination between various research groups all over the world. It is expected there will be several invited speakers from the United States at this symposium as well as at least a dozen graduate student and junior researcher participants. This award will support the travel expenses for the United States participants to attend this symposium.
