Abstract

An experimental prototype automated framework for producing estimates of bulk crustal properties developed with previous NSF support is being fine tuned and converted into a production-level system suitable for generation of a standard USArray data product available through permanent USArray facilities. The prototype system, the EarthScope Automated Receiver Survey (EARS; http://www.seis.sc.edu/ears), now routinely generates crustal parameter estimates for all USArray Transportable Array stations. The production system involves a community-based review and revision mechanism to maximize feedback from scientists and educators utilizing the facility. A workshop of geoscientists interested in studying seismic discontinuities is being help in order to ensure the system meets community needs.
