Abstract
The mission of the Polar Research Board is to provide independent assistance to Federal agencies and the nation on science issues of importance in the Artic, Antarctic, and cold regions broadly. Activities include program reviews, assessment of priorities, and analyses of nationally important polar science topics. The Polar Research Board serves as the U.S. National Committee to the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research, International Arctic Science Committee, and International Polar Year, thus facilitating U.S. leadership in these international groups.
