Abstract
This proposal requests funds for two northeast regional one-day conferences on string theory to be held at Brown University, which is centrally located and accessible by train and/or carpool by almost all areas in the Northeast. This regional meeting will provide a small scale forum which will be more accessible to graduate students and post-docs than the large annual string meeting. There will be introductory talks at the advanced graduate school level as well as a discussion of the most current topics in the field. The main goal of the meeting will be to educate graduate students and postdoctoral researchers
