Abstract

One hundred scholarships are being awarded to academically talented, financially needy students majoring in the biological sciences, computer sciences, engineering, geosciences, mathematics or the physical sciences or the associated technology areas. This scholarship project builds on a previous successful CSEMS project. The program is successfully recruiting, retaining and graduating increased numbers of students who are members of groups that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM subjects. The project is enabling the institution to build partnerships with local industry that is improving the educational quality of graduates entering the technological workforce.
