Abstract

This TIE project will study enzyme immobilization on surfaces of macroporous membranes which is crucial to understand the protein-surface interactions in terms of the structures, orientation, activity and stability of the siloxane forming enzymes as well as the surface characteristics. This is important in order to improve the efficiency of the enzyme catalyzed reactions that could result in new materials for fabrication of devices ranging from medical implants to water purification systems.
