Abstract

This Dissertation Research project by Chanda Meek, PI Gary Kofinas, will assess the effectiveness of co-management (federal agencies and Alaska Native communities) for managing marine resources in the State of Alaska. Using institutional analyses and resilience theory the investigator will compare a number of co-management regimes. The investigator will collect date through interviews, ethnographic observations, and participant observation to assess the effectiveness of these various management organizations.
