Abstract
This award supports a five-day workshop on the interpretation of microstructures in sediments and rocks. The workshop will be held at Hamilton College's science center in June 2006. The focus is glacial sediments from Antarctica's continental shelf. Microstructure is potentially very important for interpreting both modern and ancient glacial processes, which are critical to understanding global climate change and sea level rise. The organizers expect approximately twenty participants, including researchers, and undergraduate and graduate students
