Abstract
This award is for the acquisition of a growth chamber and a photosynthesis system for research on plant growth and photosynthesis. The researchers are investigating questions of plant stress responses and competition, seeking the physiological underpinnings to changes in habitat and species fitness. These instruments will benefit the development of student creativity, laboratory skills and scientific writing, while addressing questions in modern plant biology. This undergraduate university places a strong emphasis on undergraduate research in lab classes as well as in independent research projects.
