0632478 Thomas This proposal requests funding to help support the Gordon Research Conference on Industrial Ecology to be held at Queens College, Oxford, UK from August 6 to 11, 2006. Specifically, funds are requested to support participant expenses and defray travel and/or conference fee expenses for U.S participants to the conference. The funds will facilitate participation of graduate students who would benefit from exposure to presentations and discussions by global leaders on this topic. Previous Gordon Research Conferences on Industrial Ecology led to the definition and formalization of Industrial Ecology and a new technical discipline. The forthcoming conference continues this important venue for the discussion of frontier issues involving pollution reduction, waste generation, material consumption, and environmental impacts associated with industrial systems.
