Abstract
The PI's research is in the area of lattice QCD as a tool for calculating expeimentally accessible quantities. In particular he has calculated electromagnetic mass splittings with good success, and he has also made calculations of Coulomb gases, a problem relevant to biophysics. He also plans to develop lattice techniques for Minkowski space, rather than the Euclidean space used in current calculations; this will be a significant program of considerable duration. The broader impacts include the training of postdocs and graduate students in computional methods, and the application of these methods to other fields, especially biophysics
