Abstract
Travel Award for the 4th North American Ornithological Conference This award will support travel for 20 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to present their research and participate in the 4th North American Ornithological Conference. Ten graduate students and post-doctoral fellows working in avian animal behavior and ten graduate students and post-doctoral fellows working on avian population and community ecology, ecosystems and evolution will be supported. This international conference will be held October 3-7, 2006 in Veracruz, Mexico. The 4th North American Ornithological Conference is expected to be the largest North American-Latin American conference on scientific ornithology ever held and thus provides an exceptional opportunity for young scientists to develop international contacts and initiate collaborations. This award will contribute to the career development of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. The majority of the travel award recipients will be members of underrepresented groups in science.
