Abstract

The Hoffleit Centennial: A Year of Celebration. ABSTRACT AST 0626637 Dr. William van Altena at Yale University will organize a 1.5-day symposium in New Haven, CT on April 28-29 2006, in recognition of Dr. E. Dorrit Hoffleit and her contributions to astronomy. In addition to topical sessions on areas in which Dr. Hoffleit has worked (e.g., the solar system, variable stars, spectroscopy and photometry, and catalogs, databases, and the virtual observatory), sessions highlighting efforts at broadening the participation of women and the current state of women in astronomy will be held.
