Abstract

Alfred W. Hubler of the University of Illinoise Urbana Champaign is supported by the Theoretical and Computational Chemistry program for a conference on "Understanding Complex Systems" to be held in May, 2006. The conference will bring together researchers interested in the molecular basis of life processes with those studying the dynamics of information and energy flows in evolving networks. The proceedings of the conference will be communicated via a website and through publication of the proceedings in the journal Complexity for which the principal investigator is the Executive Editor. The conference will help broaden participation in science by including women, under-represented minorities and junior scientists as speakers and participants.
