Abstract
The Gordon Research Conference on Superconductivity covers active research topics in the physics of superconductivity. It brings together the world's leading authorities along with junior researchers in this field for concentrated but informal discussion at today's research frontier. The Spring 2006 Conference will continue the trend towards breaking down traditional boundaries. In addition to the more traditional sessions on recent developments in oxide superconductors, new sessions will include discussions of coherent superconducting devices, actinide (plutonium/uranium) based superconductors, magnetic-field induced superconductivity and cobaltate superconductors. The interactive nature of the conference will allow young researchers to network with the leaders in the field. The NSF support will enable the attendance of up to 15% of the conference participants, who would otherwise not be able to attend. Particular emphasis will be placed on supporting the attendance by a diverse group of young researchers, especially those who are traditionally underrepresented in the physics research community.
