Abstract

This grant supports the travel, subsistence and registration expenses of 25 student participants in the Fifth International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems (AAMAS), being held June 8-12, 2006, in Hakodate, Japan. This conference is entirely devoted to all aspects of research and application of agents technology, an important area of computer science research in domains such as information retrieval, user interfaces, electronic commerce, robotics, computer mediated collaboration, computer games, ubiquitous computing, social simulation, education, and training. Participation in this conference will allow a diverse group of students, representing a wide range of research areas and methodologies, to present their research to the agents community. In addition, special mentoring activities are planned for them. This conference will not only be extremely educational for students, but also will mark a major step forward for them in their emergence as scientific professionals. In addition, the knowledge and insights they bring back will be valuable for the research community in the United States.
