Abstract
OISE-0551891 Jin, Deborah (University of Colorado, Boulder), US-Japan Joint Seminar: Coherent Quantum Mechanics Recent progress in the fields of ultracold atoms, cold molecules, and quantum optics continues to strengthen our ability to observe and manipulate coherent quantum systems. Dr. Deborah Jin will co-organize a workshop on coherent quantum systems in Breckenridge, Colorado on August 23-26, 2006 with Professor Masahito Ueda of the Tokyo Institute of Technology. The workshop will focus on fundamental issues and applications of ultracold atoms and molecules. Focus topics are Bose-Einstein condensates, Fermi gases, cold molecules, precision measurements, quantum optics, and quantum information and quantum computation. Twenty U.S. scientists, including three junior faculty and five graduate students, will participate in the meeting, along with 13 Japanese scientists.
