Abstract
This is a follow-up to a project funded in 2002. It seeks to continue the development of an educative, values-engaged approach to STEM education evaluation that addresses questions of program quality and educational equity, i.e., integrate values into the evaluation of STEM programs. The approach focuses on the important contribution of evaluation to STEM knowledge generation and learning and to the political requirements for equal access, opportunity and representation in STEM educational policies, programs and practices. It raises questions about the impact of equity and diversity of values on STEM education and thus offers a new approach to understanding the disparities in STEM education effectiveness
