Abstract

The MSRIWorkshop Mathematics of Relaying and Cooperation in Communication Networks will be held April 10-12, 2006, in the facilities of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) in Berkeley, CA. This proposal requests support for travel expenses of workshop participants from the U.S. and other parts of the world. These participants would be individuals whose work has been important for the recent advances on the topic, but who lack funds and would not be able to attend without travel support. It is proposed that the workshop chairs, Michael Gastpar, Gerhard Kramer, and J. Nicholas Laneman, make the awards. The total amount requested is $ 22,700, split equally between U.S. and non-U.S. participants.
