Negative Ion Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Molecular Cluster Anions
Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore MD
Investigators
Abstract
In this award, funded by the Experimental Physical Chemistry Program of the Chemistry Division, Prof. Kit H. Bowen of Johns Hopkins University and his graduate research students will study the photoionization of a series of gas-phase molecular anions. One specific project will reveal important information about how electrons behave in solution. Other experiments will provide important benchmarks for other experimentalists and theorists studying both exotic double Rydberg anions as well as important and ubiquitous biochemical species. Besides the broad impact of the research on several areas of science, Prof. Bowen will continue to train a diverse group of young scientists for careers in the sciences.
