Abstract
The University of Washington is requesting partial support for a workshop for blind professional and students at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels in science, mathematics, or engineering. The goal of the workshop is for students to receive mentoring from successful students and professional at higher levels and to learn about the current and future technologies for accessing information either tactually or aurally. The workshop will encourage and enable blind students to aspire and have the technical resources to attain the highest levels in their chosen fields. In conjunction with the workshop, the National Federation of the Blind will hold a workshop for employers to assist them in hiring blind professionals.
