Yale Summer Workshop on Basic Astrometric Methods, New Haven CT (July 18-22, 2005) ABSTRACT AST 0533066 William van Altena Dr. William van Altena, at Yale University, will organize and host the Yale Summer Workshop on Basic Astrometric Methods. The workshop, to be held in New Haven, CT from July 18-22, 2005, will provide an intensive introduction to astrometric methods. The broader purpose of the Yale Summer Workshop is to promote the education of students in a research area that is a critical part of realizing scientific gains from current and future and ground-based and space-based astronomy facilities. Additionally, it is hoped that by highlighting the importance of astrometry to the future of the field, increased attention to astrometry will result in college/university curricula.
