Abstract
0504420 Benjamin Currently there is not a fundamental understanding of how NOM fouls membranes during water treatment and how NOM interacts with various particles to foul membranes. The PI proposes a series of well-conceived experiments to investigate membrane fouling by NOMs. Through answering the five hypotheses posed about NOM gell formation and its relationship to fouling, it is anticipated that operating conditions to reduce fouling can be identified.
