Abstract

ABSTRACT OPP0424901 This is a dissertation research proposal to examine the changes in technology among the Alutiit in the Kodiak region of Alaska at the time of contact. Utilizing experimental techniques for tool analysis, as well as ethnohistoric, archaeological and material analyses the research proposes to gain a more holistic understanding of the factors that influence technology changes among foragers.
