Abstract
This project, which will connect the Claremont Colleges to the Abilene network, has two main goals: 1. Provide advanced network connections and design end-to-end services so that advanced research projects can prosper. 2. Conduct networking research on top of the infrastructure to better understand application requirements and design Quality-of-Service mechanisms over IP networks. The Claremont Colleges Consortium has a unique history of working to enhance the quality of research and education at its member institutions. All of the undergraduate programs are ranked in the top tier of the best programs in the country, while Claremont Graduate University is a doctoral extensive research university that is a leading institution for information science, social sciences and bio-technology research.
