Abstract
Summary: This research explores the use of geochemical tracers in a marine gastropod as an indicator of Chilean coastal upwelling. Mg/Ca will be used to indicate water temperature and Cd/Ca will be used to indicate nutrient content. Measurements from a series of water samples will be compared to analyses of living shells to test and calibrate the usefulness of the method.
