Abstract

This award is made under the high performance connections portion of ANIR's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 98-102. It provides partial support for two years for an OC-3 connection. Applications include work involving the Tango collaborative development technology for web-based distance education, VisBench scientific visualization, the Jackson State University weather web site, and distributed computational work that involves storage management, distributed information retrieval, and video delivery. Collaborating institutions include but are not limited to Syracuse University, Mississippi State University, the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign, and a number of Federal sites within DoD, NASA, and the National Weather Service.
