Abstract
This award is made under the high performance connections portion of ANIR's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 98-102. It provides partial support for two years for an OC-3 connection. Applications include remote operation of scientific instrumentation, visualization and imaging, environmental studies that focus on the U.S. - Mexico border region around El Paso, regional water resource management, and storage and transmission of massive datasets. Collaborating institutions include but are not limited to the Stanford Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory, UT- Austin, Texas A&M, Purdue University, Rice University, UCLA, the University of Wisconsin, Los Alamos National Laboratory, the National Institutes of Health, and several Mexican institutions of learning.
