Abstract
The Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study is a longitudinal research initiative designed to enhance our understanding of tobacco use and its health impacts among the U.S. population. Funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the PATH Study collects comprehensive data on tobacco use behaviors, attitudes, and health outcomes from a representative sample of youth and adults. Through annual surveys and biomarker analyses, the study aims to track changes in tobacco product usage, the emergence of new tobacco products, and the resultant health effects over time. Findings from the PATH Study are intended to inform tobacco regulation policies, guide public health interventions, and ultimately reduce the burden of tobacco-related diseases.
