Abstract
The Automated Self-Administered 24-Hour (ASA24) is a free, web-based dietary assessment tool developed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that allows users to complete 24-hour dietary recalls or food records online. It consists of two websites: a "Respondent Website" for participants to log their food intake and a "Researcher Website" for researchers, clinicians, and educators to manage studies and analyze data. The system guides users through a detailed recall process to collect information on foods, portion sizes, and other dietary habits, and provides automated coding and analysis of the data. Overall, the ASA24 system aims to advance the field of dietary assessment by leveraging technology to provide accurate, efficient, and accessible tools for research and health promotion.
