Abstract
In support of the NIH BRAIN Initiative in the Office of the BRAIN Director, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), the contractor will provide information development and dissemination services and other communications support services. The National Institutes of Healthâs (NIH) BRAIN Initiative in the Office of the BRAIN Director (OBD), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), aims to revolutionize our understanding of the human brain. The NIH BRAIN Initiative is made up of 10 Institutes and Centers and is a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). A cornerstone of the NIH BRAIN Initiativeâs mission involves broadly and inclusively sharing the tools and technologies developed from BRAIN Initiative funding. In addition, reaching researchers from diverse fields to be a part of BRAIN Initiative projects is central to growing the Initiativeâs researcher community in an inclusive manner. These objectives involve a thoughtful communications planning and outreach approach that is carefully integrated into the Office of the BRAIN Directorâs programmatic, policy, and budget processes. The communications and outreach coordination responsibilities within the Office of the BRAIN Director include sharing information about BRAIN-funded neuroscience discoveries and research programs with all BRAIN stakeholders, such as scientists from diverse fields including neuroscientists and neurologists, biologists, mathematicians, statisticians, ethicists, engineers, and others; members of the public with an interest in neuroscience or the advancement of neurotechnology, healthcare professionals, media, partner and advocacy organizations, and Congress.
