Abstract

In the past year, the main focus has been running the Glacios microscope with minimum downtime and serving the users in our community with sample preparation, data collection and data analysis as well as training both in freezing samples as well as microscope operation and data collection. Several problems related to the poor quality of the house chilling water that impacted the stability of the microscope rendering it unusable were diagnosed and addressed. Several software updates were also made to improve the data collection experience. We added new instruments such as Thermo Fisher Scientifics Vitrobot and Leica EM GP2 to help our users to prepare more delicate condition controlled samples. In addition, we also ordered the new storage instruments to save big-scaled datasets with an access of easy-reading and writing. Those above new instruments will provide our users more capacities of data security.
