Abstract
Over the years OMC has served users from 73 different NCI laboratories; a substantial fraction of users (~40%) have come from the LRBGE (NCI), which has a large number of groups interested in state-of the art light microscopy. The Core has also served 33 users from 19 other NIH institutes and has also collaborated with 13 universities around the country and abroad. In the last 5 years, this led to the publication of 22 papers, 11 of them as collaborations with the OMC staff. OMC instrumentation consists of a wide-field microscope, two confocal microscopes, two custom-built HILO-illumination based microscopes, SIM/STORM super-resolution microscope, and MINFLUX nano-resolution microscope. OMC upgrades and replaces the instrumentation, custom-builds SMT microscopes, purchases new technology such as MINFLUX microscope (Abberior) capable of nano-resolution and nano-precision SMT, one of the first two MINFLUX microscopes in USA. OMC is involved in outreach and continuous education. The Head of the Core Dr. Karpova together with Dr. Combs (NHLBI) moderates the NIH-wide light microscopy interest group seminar.
