Abstract
This research study seeks to understand the long-term impacts of COVID-19 on U3 women and their families to assist in developing community-based interventions for recovery, improved health, and resiliency. During the past year, our project has made substantial progress on additional selection of biomarkers, research assay development, and scientific partners for the clinical portion of this study. We continue, study enrollment, increasing the number of study participants to meet our accrual rate for the study as well as continuing our biospecimen collection. Eighty percent of study participants agreed to provide one or more biospecimen samples (blood, saliva, toenails, urine, dust, and wearing a personal exposure wristband). Recruitment processes and materials are continually refined to reach a broader demographic in urban and rural communities across the state, including the recruitment of younger women. The recruitment team continues to collaborate with local county and state organizations and community stakeholders to promote REACH enrollment.
