Abstract
My research has focused on evaluating similarities and differences among various drivers and etiologies of peritoneal mesothelioma and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. We have gained more of an understanding of the heterogeneity of peritoneal mesothelioma as well as its likely regional site of origin in most cases. We are learning more about the microenvironment, which will likely influence treatment strategies and new clinical trials moving forward. We are in the middle of data generation for gastrointestinal stromal tumors, which we anticipate will produce interesting findings that will also influence treatment strategies.
