Abstract
To date, OPCORe's patient reported outcome (PRO) template has been incorporated in seven NIH Institution Review Board (IRB) approved early phase trials (Phase I/II) in the Neuro-Oncology Branch (3), Experimental Transplantation and Immunology Branch (1), Radiation Oncology Branch (1), Women's Malignancy Branch (1) and the Genitourinary Malignancies Branch (1). OPCORe assisted in the development of the PRO component and provides ongoing support and education with regards to the PRO in these studies. Two studies evaluating the use of smart wearables and virtual reality were recently closed to patient enrollment and the corresponding manuscripts are currently under preparation. As a result of the joint NCI-FDA workshop on symptomatic toxicities, a collaborative scoping review manuscript on the prevalence of symptomatic toxicities for novel therapies was published in JNCI Cancer Spectrum. A research version of an APP that can be used across cancers for symptom monitoring has been developed. Future plan is to conduct feasibility study on its use.
